There will be Thursday night high school football this week.
Beginning at 7:30 p.m., Christian Heritage School (1-0) will finish its game against Riverside Military Academy that was suspended by lightning and heavy rain on Aug. 17. Christian Heritage, with possession of the ball, was leading Riverside Military Academy 17-7 early in the third quarter.

The Lions raced out to an early lead after defensive back Zach Gentry intercepted a Riverside Military Academy pass and returned it 50 yards for a touchdown, making the score 7-0 with the extra point. Lions kicker Joe Dixon hit a 41-yard field goal to increase the lead to 10-0. Quarterback Matthew Neff hit Gentry, this time on offense, for a long touchdown pass. After the extra point the Lions led 17-0 in the second quarter.
Riverside Military Academy scored its touchdown just before halftime.
Several local games were delayed or suspended on Aug. 17, the opening Friday night of the high school football season. The Dalton/Ringgold suspended game was finished the following Monday. The Christian Heritage/Riverside Military Academy game was originally scheduled to be completed this Friday night.
