Pace catches trio of TDs as Christian Heritage rolls to 3-0 in region

Ayden Pace caught three touchdown receptions as Christian Heritage got to 3-0 in region play.
Christian Heritage (5-1, 3-0 Region 7-A DI) and Pace raced past Coosa (2-4, 0-3 Region 7-A) Friday night.

The Lions got the scoring started quickly on just a four-play opening scoring drive.
A long catch-and-run on a screen play to Sawyer Corn set the Lions up at the 17, and Carter Triplett fired a strike to Pace on the next play for a score, putting the Lions up 6-0 after a failed PAT.
Duncan Carpenter fell on a fumble on the first Coosa possession to get Christian Heritage the ball back, but the Lions missed on a long field goal.
Once Christian Heritage forced a quick punt, Triplett and Pace connected for a second touchdown of the first quarter.
Triplett fired to the goal line and found Pace, who made a catch in traffic and backed in for a score to put Christian Heritage up 13-0.
The first quarter ended at 13-0, but Triplett hit on his third touchdown pass of the night in the second.

Triplett lofted the ball on a fade route to Dontae Crowder, who brought it in for a 14-yard score.
When Christian Heritage got the ball back late in the second quarter in their own territory, the Lions needed just two plays to score.
Corn flipped the field with a 63-yard screen play on the first play, and Triplett got loose for a 17-yard rushing touchdown on the next play, making it 27-0.
Triplett and Pace connected for a third time early in the third. With the Lions backed up at their own 9, Triplett found a wide open pace behind the defense, and Pace carried it the rest of the way for a 91-yard score.
After coming into the game with one TD reception on the season, Pace piled up three Friday night.
Christian Heritage made it 41-0 when Thailan Christopher took in a 19-yard rushing touchdown late in the third.
With reserves on the field for Christian Heritage and a running clock in the fourth, Coosa ended the shutout with a 31-yard rushing touchdown.
The Lions play next Friday for another region game at Gordon Central at 7:30 p.m.
