Northwest, Dalton to play today, Southeast game rescheduled for Monday

The landfall of Hurricane Helene brought with it heavy rains and some changes to the high school football schedule.

Three games featuring local teams that were scheduled for Thursday and Friday have been moved.

Southeast Whitfield had a game scheduled for Thursday at Towers in Decatur. That game has been moved to Monday at 5 p.m. at Hallford Stadium in Clarkston.

Northwest Whitfield’s road game at Heritage has been moved to Saturday at 12:30 p.m., while Dalton’s homecoming game with Hiram will be played at noon at Harmon Field in Dalton.

Northwest is looking to maintain its undefeated record and get to 2-0 in Region 7-3A play.

Meanwhile, Southeast Whitfield and Dalton are both searching for their first wins.

It’s the first home game in more than a month for Dalton, which has played four consecutive road games since a game against North Oconee on Aug. 23.
