Dalton splits Tennessee tri-match

Dalton (21-13) split a tri-match in Tennessee Thursday, defeating Rhea County (11-16) but falling to East Hamilton (21-8).

Dalton defeated Rhea County 2-0, winning each set by a sliver. Dalton won the first 27-25 and the second 26-24.

East Hamilton earned a decisive 2-0 win over Dalton, downing the Lady Cats 25-10 and 25-11.

Dalton hosts Rockmart on Tuesday at 5 p.m.

Christian Heritage downs Chattooga, galls to LaFayette

Christian Heritage (10-15) picked up one win and took one loss on Thursday, knocking off Chattooga (16-11) but falling to LaFayette (20-12)

Christian Heritage bounced back from a 27-25 loss to Chattooga in the first set to win 25-21 in the second and 25-13 in the third for a 2-1 win.

LaFayette turned back the Lady Lions 26-24 and 25-20 for a 2-0 win.

Christian Heritage plays Gordon Lee and Notre Dame on Tuesday.

Dalton Academy pushes Gordon Central to three sets

Dalton Academy (1-18) dropped both in a Thursday tri-match, falling to Gordon Central (3-19) and Rome ().

The Lady Pumas fell to Gordon Central 2-1. Dalton Academy lost the first set 25-18, but won the second set 25-21.

The set win marked the first set win of the season outside of the Lady Pumas’ 2-0 win over Georgia School of the Deaf. Gordon Central won the tiebreaker set 15-11 to take the match.

Berenice Campos had nine aces, four gills, four digs and an assist.

Rome knocked off TDA in two sets, 25-15 and 25-9.

Dalton Academy hosts Chattooga and Southeast Whitfield on Tuesday.

Creek drops tri-match to pair of 6A schools

Class 2A Coahulla Creek (20-9) fell in both games of a Thursday tri-match that pitted the Lady Colts against two 6A schools.

Creek fell 2-1 to Carrollton (18-14) and 2-0 to Harrison (21-11).

After Coahulla dominated the first set against Carrollton 25-11, Carrollton won the second 25-22 and the third 16-14. Alyce Norton tallied 12 kills.

Harrison won the first set 25-13 and the second 25-15.

Creek returns to Region 7-2A competition Tuesday against Ringgold and Sonoraville.
